A short briefing of Surah Al Imran verse no 71 to 75

                 بِسۡم ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 

Verse no 71

Yaaa Ahalal Kitaabi lima talbisoonal haqqa bilbaatili wa taktumoonal haqqa wa antum ta'lamoon (section 7)

O people of the Scripture! Why do you confound the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth and that (too) deliberately?

God wants you to know

O People of the Book, why do you mix truth with falsehood and hide the truth knowingly? This verse from Surah Al Imran (3:71) carries a profound message for humanity. It addresses those who were entrusted with divine scriptures, urging them not to distort or obscure the truth deliberately. God wants you to know that honesty in conveying His message is a responsibility that must not be taken lightly.

The verse highlights an important moral lesson about integrity and sincerity. Mixing truth with falsehood not only misguides others but also corrupts one's own soul. When people deliberately manipulate or hide the truth, they betray the trust God has placed in them. This behavior causes confusion and leads others astray from the right path.

God wants you to know that truth is a sacred gift. It must be preserved and shared without alterations or deceptions. Honoring the truth is not just a religious obligation but also a fundamental part of being just and fair in society. This message applies to everyone, encouraging us to uphold honesty in all aspects of life, whether in faith, relationships, or daily dealings.

In essence, this verse is a call for reflection and self-awareness. It reminds us that God is aware of all our actions, including our intentions. Therefore, it is essential to strive for truthfulness and resist the temptation to mix lies with what is right. This way, we fulfill our responsibility toward God and contribute to a more truthful and harmonious world.

Verse no 72

Wa qaalat taaa ifatum min Ahlil Kitaabi aaminoo billazeee unzila "alal lazeena aamanoo wajhan nahaari wakfurooo aakhirahoo la alla hum yarji oon

A section of the people of the Scripture said (to their companions in confidence), 'Avow belief in that (- the Qur'an) which has been revealed to the believers, in the early hours of the day and deny (it) in the latter part of it, so that they (- the newly converted Muslims) may return (to disbelief),

A group among the People of the Book devised a deceptive plan against the truth. They told their companions in secret to declare belief in the Qur'an in the morning but deny it by evening. Their intention was to create doubt among the newly converted Muslims and make them turn away from Islam. This verse from Surah Al Imran (3:72) warns against such deliberate schemes to mislead people from the path of truth.

God wants you to know the importance of sincerity and honesty in faith. Those who play with the truth, pretending to believe only to later deny it, aim to create confusion and weaken the faith of others. This strategy reveals the lengths some go to in order to oppose the truth, even when they recognize it deep down.

The verse reminds us that faith should not be treated as a tool for manipulation or deceit. True belief comes with responsibility and commitment. God wants you to know that such acts of hypocrisy not only harm others but also damage the person engaging in them, as they distance themselves further from God's guidance.

This teaching encourages everyone to be cautious of false narratives and schemes meant to mislead. It highlights the importance of staying firm in faith and seeking knowledge to counter doubt. God wants you to know that He is aware of all plans, and truth will ultimately prevail, no matter how much people try to obscure it. Trust in God, and He will guide you to clarity and strength.

Verse no 73

Wa laa tu minooo illaa liman tabi a deenakum qui innal hudaa hudal laahi ai yu'taaa ahadum misla maaa ooteetum aw yuhaaajjookum inda Rabbikum, qul innal fadla biyadil laah; yu'teehi mai yashaaa; wallaahu Waasi un Aleem

'Yet avow this belief only for the sake of those who follow your creed.' Say, 'Surely, the true guidance is Allah's guidance', (and they also said, 'Do not believe,) that anyone will ever be given the like of that (gift of prophethood) which you have been given, or that they will ever be able to prevail upon you in argument before your Lord.' Say, 'Eminence (of prophethood and sovereignty) is entirely in the hands of Allâh. He confers it to whomsoever He will. And Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing.

God wants you to know that true guidance comes only from Him. In this verse from Surah Al Imran, Allah addresses those who were hesitant to share the truth of His message with others, particularly those who did not follow their beliefs. They were told to acknowledge the guidance they received but to limit it to their own group. Allah reminds them, through His Prophet, that real guidance is solely in His control and not tied to any specific group or people.

Some among them doubted that others could ever receive blessings or wisdom similar to what they had received, particularly the gift of prophethood. They believed no one could challenge their understanding of the divine message in front of Allah. However, the Prophet was instructed to respond that all honor, power, and blessings, including prophethood, belong to Allah alone. He grants these gifts to whomever He chooses, based on His infinite wisdom.

Allah is all-encompassing in His knowledge and mercy. His decisions are neither limited nor influenced by human prejudices or desires. He knows who is worthy of His blessings and what is best for every individual and community. This verse emphasizes that Allah’s wisdom surpasses human understanding, and His choices are always just and perfect.

Through this message, God wants you to know that divine guidance and blessings are not restricted by human barriers like race, culture, or creed. It is a reminder to trust in Allah’s judgment and His plan, as He knows what is hidden and manifest, and His knowledge encompasses everything.

Verse no 74

Yakhtassu birahmatihee mai yashaaa'; wallaahu zulfadil azeem

Allâh has singled out for His grace (of the bestowal of Divine revelation) one whom He has pleased, for Allah is the Lord of great eminence.

God wants you to know that He chooses whom He pleases to receive His special blessings and guidance. This verse from Surah Al Imran reminds us that Allah’s decisions are based on His wisdom and are beyond human understanding. He selects certain individuals for unique honors, such as receiving divine revelation, and this is entirely His choice.

Allah’s grace is vast and limitless, and He bestows it on those who align with His will. It is not something that people can demand or control. The gift of prophethood or any other divine favor is not given because of a person’s lineage, wealth, or social status but is purely based on Allah’s mercy and His grand plan for humanity.

This verse also emphasizes the greatness of Allah’s authority and sovereignty. His choices are always perfect and just because He is the Lord of immense honor and glory. Everything in the universe is under His control, and He grants His favors according to His infinite wisdom and knowledge. No one can question His decisions or compete with His majesty.

Through this message, God wants you to know that His blessings are not confined to any one group of people. They are a sign of His mercy and wisdom, given to whomever He pleases. This is a reminder for us to trust Allah’s plan and be grateful for the blessings we receive, while understanding that His choices are always for the greater good.

Verse no 75

Wa min Ahlil Kitaabi man in taamanhu biqintaariny yu'addihee ilaika wa minhum man in taamanhu bideenaaril laa yu'addiheee ilaika illaa maa dumta 'alaihi qaaa imaa; zaalika biannahum qaaloo laisa alainaa fil ummiyyeena sabeelunw wa yagooloona alal laahil kazība wa hum ya'lamoon

And among the people of the Scripture there is he if you trust him with a huge treasure he will surrender it to you; yet there is another among them that if you entrust him with a single dinâr he will not surrender it to you unless you keep on pressing him. They do that because they say, 'We are not liable to be called to account in the matter of the unlettered (- not of Jewish race), and they tell a lie in the name of Allah deliberately.

God wants you to know the diverse nature of human trustworthiness. In Surah Al Imran, verse 75, the Qur'an presents a clear example of how people from the People of the Scripture can differ in their honesty and dealings. Some among them are so trustworthy that if you entrust them with a great treasure, they will return it to you without hesitation. On the other hand, there are those who, even if you give them something as small as a single dinar, will not return it unless you persistently demand it.

This difference in character stems from a belief held by some among them. They claim that they are not accountable when dealing with those outside their own community, specifically those they consider "unlettered" or not of their lineage. This false belief leads them to justify dishonesty and unethical behavior toward others. Such actions are not only unjust but also reflect a deep moral failure.

Moreover, the verse highlights that such justifications are deliberate lies made in the name of Allah. This dishonesty is not merely a matter of personal weakness but a serious act of deception that violates both divine guidance and the principles of justice and fairness. It is a warning against misusing religion for personal gain or to justify wrong actions.

God wants you to know the importance of integrity and fairness in all dealings, regardless of a person’s race, religion, or background. True faith requires accountability and honesty in every aspect of life. The verse reminds believers to reflect on their actions and uphold truthfulness, as they will ultimately be accountable to Allah for their behavior.
