                بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم

Verse 121

Allazeena aatainaahumul Kitaaba yatloonahoo haqqa tilaawatiheee ulaaa’ika yu’minoona bih; wa mai yakfur bihee fa ulaaa’ika humul khaasiroon (section 14)

They (the true Muslims), to whom We have given the Book, follow it as it deserves to be followed. It is they who truly believe in it. And whoever does not believe in it, these are they who are the utter losers.

Word of God

Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 121 of the Qur'an, stresses the respect and adherence true Muslims should have towards the Word of God. Verse 122

Yaa Baneee Israaa’eelaz-kuroo ni’matiyal lateee an’amtu ‘alaikum wa annee faddaltukum ‘alal ‘aalameen

“O children of Israel! Remember My favour which I conferred upon you, and that I exalted you above all your contemporaries.”

Verse 122 of Surah Baqarah in the Qur'an reminds the children of Israel of the blessings Allah bestowed upon them. The verse calls for remembrance, encouraging the Israelites to reflect on Allah’s favours. The "Word of God" here emphasizes divine guidance and gratitude. Verse 123

Wattaqoo yawmal laa tajzee nafsun ‘an nafsin shai ‘anw wa laa yuqbalu minhaa ‘adlunw wa laa tanfa’uhaa shafaa ‘atunw wa laa hum yunsaroon

"And guard (yourselves) against the day when no soul shall avail another in any way, nor any compensation will be accepted, nor will any intercession benefit, and nor shall they be helped."

In verse 123 of Surah Al-Baqarah, believers are warned to heed the "Word of God" and be mindful of the Day of Judgment. The verse solemnly reminds believers of the accountability every individual will face on that day. No one will be able to help another, regardless of relationships. No compensation or intercession will be accepted, and those who seek aid will be left without help. This verse stresses personal accountability and the consequences of one’s actions. It highlights God’s ultimate authority and absolute judgment. By adhering to the "Word of God," believers are urged to live righteous lives, mindful of the final accountability. The verse encourages responsibility and righteousness, emphasizing the transient nature of this world and the eternal consequences in the hereafter.

Verse 124

Wa izib talaaa Ibraaheema Rabbuhoo bi Kalimaatin fa atammahunna qaala Innee jaa’iluka linnaasi Imaaman qaala wa min zurriyyatee qaala laa yanaalu ‘ahdiz zaalimeen

"(Recall) when his Lord tested Abraham with certain commandments, which he fulfilled. (God) said, 'Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people.' (Abraham) said, 'And from among my descendants?' (God) said, 'My covenant does not include the wrongdoers.'"

In Surah Baqarah, verse 124, Abraham is tested by God and fulfills His commandments, demonstrating obedience and faithfulness. In return, God promises to make Abraham a leader for humanity. Abraham asks if his descendants will also be included in this promise, to which God responds that His covenant does not extend to wrongdoers. This verse encapsulates the concept of divine testing and leadership, emphasizing that righteousness and moral integrity are essential for leadership. Abraham's obedience highlights the importance of adhering to God's commandments. Verse 125

Wa iz ja’alnal Baita masaabatal linnaasi wa amnanw wattakhizoo mim Maqaami Ibraaheema musallaaa; wa ‘ahidnaaa ilaaa Ibraaheema wa Ismaa’eela an tahhiraa Baitiya littaaa’ifeena wal’aakifeena warrukka’is sujood

"And when We made the House (Ka'bah) a place of return and peace for people, and (We said), 'Take the standing place of Abraham as a place of prayer.' And We instructed Abraham and Ismail to purify My House for those who perform Tawaf, those who devote themselves in worship, and those who bow and prostrate."

In verse 125 of Surah Baqarah, Allah speaks about the sanctity of the Ka'bah in Makkah, referring to it as a center of peace and security for humanity.
